Albertin Salong’s body condition is now very much different compared with her condition a year ago when she laid down weakly at one of hospitals in Makassar. Liver cancer caused her body thin as a rail, yellow skin and eye, and weak.
She still remembers event occurred on May 2003. It was the time when she only could see weakly a pail of yellow liquid at the corner of hospital. On that day 7 liter yellow liquids had to be sucked from her body. For moment she could take breath freely as no foreign agent pressed her lungs. Several days later, however, her stomach was full of liquid again. That’s why liquid had to be sucked once in 2 weeks. As a result, she needed albumin supply from out of her body that was cost Rp 1,6 million per dozes. (US$178)
Sirosis (tissue hardening) caused Albertin’s liver organ disabled. Liver had no longer able produced albumin to prevent blood liquid entered in to the tissue. As a result, liquid blocked in the tissue. In addition, stomach cavity was full of liquid because aorta blood vessel – a blood vessel directed to liver – was blocked. Such blockage caused bile pigment absorbed into the blood. As a result, skin and eye became yellow (ikterus).
Damaged Liver cells also caused digestive process and metabolism process were obstructed. Body became thin and powerless as there was no food input. Furthermore, appetite kept decreasing due to digestive system obstruction. Various medicines injected into the body were hardly digested and absorbed by the body due to metabolism interruption.
Specialist who was Albertin could do nothing. "medically your disease is very serious. We only try, but the decision at God’s hand," the doctor said as imitated by Albertin. This remark caused her to make her mind up to go back to Papua with critical condition.
One day, a friend of Albertin suggested to try to consume buah merah oil that was becoming hot issue. Since September 2003, she consumed buah merah oil 2 times in a day each 1 tablespoon.
"A week later, there was incredible change, digestive system became normal again," she explained.
Liquid sucking frequency reduced became once in 40 days. Therefore, she decided to be more serious continue consuming the medicine up to recovery was achieved after 1.5 months consumption.
